    Turns out quite a bit gets accomplished in a minute on the Internet, and the number of networked devices in the world is expected to keep growing.
    Tweeting, chatting, downloading music, playing games, refreshing your Facebook feed – ever wondered how much data passes through the Internet in 60 seconds?

    A minute may not seem like a lot of time, but it's actually quite a bit on the Internet.

    Intel broke it down with the help of an interesting graphic last year. According to Intel, the number of networked devices in the world today equals the world's population, and future growth predictions are simply staggering.
    Intel forecasts that by 2015, the number of networked devices will probably be double the world's population.
    The company is working on a solution to this traffic explosion. Codenamed "Crystal Forest," this next-generation communication platform will "boost performance and beef up network security to handle the increasing network traffic."
    Here's a snapshot of happens in one Internet minute:
    • 639,800 GB of global IP data gets transferred
    • Amazon rings up about $83,000 in sales
    • More than 204 million emails are sent
    • Around 20 million photos are viewed and 3,000 uploaded on Flickr
    • There are 6 million Facebook views worldwide; 277,000 logins
    • 61,141 hours of music are played on Pandora
    • More than 100 new LinkedIn accounts are opened
    • 6 new Wikipedia articles are published
    • 47,000 apps are downloaded
    • There are 20 new victims of identity theft
